What really is it?

Artistic Learning is a concept that has existed for quite some time but is only being recognized as a concrete theory in education currently.

EQUAL Guyana considers ‘Artistic Learning’ or ‘Artistic Education’ to be the continuous process of development of the personality through multiple forms of contact with art.

This suggests that art in its various forms is essential for the development of individuals, communities, organizations, countries and the world at large. The concept of artistic learning is especially used in early developmental stages to begin fostering the process of self-actualization.

In this regard, EQUAL Guyana regards artistic leaning as the ideal format for actualizing individual and community queer-culture in Guyana, which is still somewhat dormant despite the work that has been done in policy change and other interventions.
