EQUAL Guyana is being developed to reach the needs of LGBTQ communities in Guyana who are often not afforded the same opportunities as their heterosexual, cisgender counterparts. The activities are developed with people’s wants and needs in mind, taking into consideration the fact that much of the work done in the past have not been effectively people-centered.

The aim is to shift from the traditional management system which perpetuates economic gain with financial roots, to a more people-centered approach in which real people are the root of the project, and humanity is recognized as a commonality.

EQUAL Guyana will break negative cycles by truly taking the wants and needs of the community into consideration and ensuring that real people form the core of the project. EQUAL Guyana seeks to give back to persons, their humanity, which was stripped form them because of the intrinsic forms of stigma and discrimination that has prevailed for many years in Guyana,

EQUAL is a project created by real people, for real people, returning humanity to social services and serving communities with honesty, trust and transparency.
